Recent Quilts…
I just finished some really memorable quilts! One was a queen sized quilt made for a Toronto hockey gal that’s playing this year at college in upstate New York. She was quite an accomplished player and had many winning jerseys, and jackets to make quilt squares from. On a couple jerseys she had signatures that I created into patches, then reattached them to the squares. I also created patches from the smaller logos on the fronts of her jackets. I love how this one turned out!
Another really cool quilt was made from a mix of roller hockey jerseys (they are usually so colorful and funky!), as well as ice hockey jerseys. It’s a stadium size that can be easily transported and can be used to cover up at those cold rinks! This quilt was my donation for the AAA Amateur Blues auction that was held recently. The auction winner plans on using them for the wall in her son’s bedroom.
It’s now officially fall (almost hockey season –
my fav time of year) – let the games begin!
